Are you travelling to Bordeaux with your kids? What a wonderful Idea!
Easy to admit that there simply are not enough wine tours that cater to the whole family, meaning that a trip to Bordeaux wine region is unfortunatly overlooked as a family friendly holiday. So of course, I thought I could try to rectify this…
Let’s be honest... when you’re a parent on holiday in Bordeaux wine country, it would be nice to sneak in a vineyard visit without having to find childcare...
You know what? I love kids and welcoming families. I'm not even afraid of diapers!
I know that grown-ups like wine, and that children like adventure… so, I try to design out off beaten tracks itineraries to arrange stops where you can have your wine (and drink it too!) but you can also count on me to make sure the little-ones keep smiling.
Children are welcome to many Bordeaux wineries these days. Now you can think about combining a beach break with a daytrip to the Bordeaux vineyards as a perfect family holiday !
You might be surprised to learn how many local wineries welcome families to their vineyards!
Some wineries offer now treasure hunts or little games to awake the curiosity of the youngest. May I suggest a nice pic nic lunch in the middle of the vines?
Bordeaux famous wine country destination can be a family-friendly place, as long as you know where to go! Here, many wineries are family businesses, and it's common to find a friendly pet dog hanging around the tasting room....
I will select kid friendly places and preferably organic wineries to make sure everyone will have a great day. You will be able to enjoy your wine while the kids run and play around.
I will be glad to provide booster seats in the car, snacks and colouring activities for the children.
I swear my people mover is large enough to accomodate your suitcases and children's strollers. And I can assure you that there will even be room left for a couple of wine cases !
I know some spots that offer fun distractions to keep the kids engaged while Mom and Dad sample local Merlot or Cabernet.
My full day family-friendly private wine tours typically include one visit to a carefully selected Bordeaux winery, an arranged lunch (preferably at an organic family-run winery) and a stop in a medieval or historical village (Saint Emilion, Cadillac, Saint Macaire, Blaye...) for some time to explore and maybe pop into a wine tasting room around.
Each private family Bordeaux wine tour tour will be customised and will always be adjusted according to children’s exact ages. I am experienced in making family travel itineraries. Contact me and I would be pleased to arrange a tailor-made itinerary, answer any questions you may have. I will adjust timings, introduce activities for the shorter attention passengers, can even create activity sheets for them.
The private family-friendly wine tours can ideally be combined with a private gourmet tour of Bordeaux to sample the best pastries and the best ice-creams!
